Gaggle Luncheon, Cfs Leitrim - 7 June 06

This luncheon was hosted by SUPRAD Oldtimer’s Association with all profits donated to ALS. Special thanks to our BBQ experts Ernie Grimshaw and Dean Goodwin.

1. Reunion update – Lists were passed around soliciting volunteer assistance for the door and mess setup. Ernie Grimshaw and Tug Wilson will organize the golf again this year. Morley McAllister and Ren Molnar have the Cairn ceremony well in hand.

2. Shirts - Several members wore their new shirts. Shirt sales have passed the 50 mark and are still available. Anyone wishing to purchase a shirt can contact: butch.whitlaw1613@rogers.com for details.

3. Moncton Reunion - Latest news from Dave Shaw states 175 have registered which is the maximum for the facility. There is also a waiting list in case of cancellations.

4. Rideau Vets - CFS Leitrim invited our association to join them on Wednesday 14th, from 11:30 – 14:00 to host a group of Rideau Veterans.

5. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) - Nigel Van Loan, who is the Ontario representative on the national board of directors for the ALS Society, thanked the association for our effort in helping with the fight against “Lou Gehrig’s” disease. A special thank you to Tom Montgomery for donating the desktop SUPRAD flags which will be sold at both reunions this month. All profit from our lunch (approx. $200.00) plus the sale of flags will be presented to Nigel at our next luncheon in August.

6. Next Meeting - The next gathering is noon Friday, August 11th.
