Retirement - Shawn Lodge

PO1 SHAWN LODGE WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN FORCES AND THE CANADIAN FORCES INFORMATION OPERATIONS GROUP ON 18 AUG 08 AFTER 26 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. SHAWN ENROLLED IN THE CANADIAN FORCES ON SEPTEMBER 24TH 1981 IN CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND AND HAS SERVED AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS DURING HIS OUTSTANDING CAREER; 770 COMM RSCH SQN GANDER, NF (X2), CFS BERMUDA, CFS LEITRIM (X2), srshq, 771 COMM RSCH SQN, DGIMO/COS 764 COMM SQN, CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS, KINGSTON, ON, CANADIAN FORCES LANGUAGE SCHOOL, GATINEAU, PQ. PO1 LODGE HAS ALSO COMPLETED FIVE TOURS OF DUTY AT CFS ALERT, AND A DEPLOYED TO
THE PERSIAN GULF WITH THE US NAVY.

SHAWN, ALONG WITH HIS CHILDREN LANEIKA AND MATTHEW WILL REMAIN IN THE OTTAWA AREA AS SHAWN HAS ACCEPTED EMPLOYMENT WITH CHIEF OF DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE (CDI).

A RETIREMENT LUNCHEON WILL BE HELD IN HIS HONOUR ON FRIDAY 15 AUG 08, AT 1300 HRS AT THE CFS LEITRIM ALL RANKS MESS, OTTAWA ON, AT A COST OF $20.00 PER PERSON. Retirement - Boyd Carter

Master Warrant Officer Boyd Carter will be retiring from the Canadian Forces on 6 Jul 08, after 27 plus years of loyal and dedicated service.

MWO Carter joined the CF on 25 Sep 1980 and completed recruit training at CFRS Cornwallis and trades training at E Squadron, CFSCE Kingston. During his distinguished career Boyd has served at the following locations: CFS Inuvik, CFS Carp, CF Language School Ottawa, 770 Comm Rsch Sqn Gander, 1 Canadian Signals Regiment Kingston, CFS Masset, NCTAMS Wahiawa Hawaii, Kunia RSOC Hawaii, 1 Canadian Division Headquarters and Signals Regiment Kingston, 2 Electronic Warfare Sqn Kingston (x 2) and CFS Leitrim. Interspersed amongst these postings Boyd completed four tours at CFS Alert, a tour at sea on board HMCS Huron and three Land operational deployments: Op PALADIUM Bosnia, Op ATHENA Kabul and JTF-Afg Kandahar.

Boyd, his wife Connie and family will remain in the Kingston area, where Boyd has secured employment with the Communications Reserve.

A retirement function will be held in Boyd> '> s honour at Vimy Officer Mess CFB Kingston on 5 Sep 08, commencing at 1330 hrs. A meal will be served at 1400 hrs at a cost of approximately $20.00. Boyd would also like to invite those interested to join him in playing 18 holes of golf at the CFB Kingston Garrison Golf Club the morning of 5 Sep. Green fees for active military members is $34.00, retired military and other government agencies $37.00, and civilians $49.50. Retirement - Sophie Mitchell

MCPL Sophie Mitchell WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANAdian FORCES AND THE CANADIAN FORCES INFORMATION OPERATIONS GROUP ON 6 feb 09 AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. sophie ENROLLED IN THE CANADIAN FORCES ON 16 august 1988 IN Montreal, quebec AND HAS SERVED AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS DURING Her OUTSTANDING CAREER; CFS Leitrim, 1 CDN Div HQ & SIG REGT, CFIOG HQ Det Medina, CANADIAN> FORCES Language SCHOOL(x2) . MCpl Mitchell HAS ALSO COMPLETED two TOURS OF DUTY AT CFS ALERT.

2. Sophie, along with her husband ian and their two children, chelsea and kevin will remain in the ottawa area, as sophie plans on expanding her horizons and study to become a laboratory technician.

Retirement - Martin Kelly

Sergeant Martin 'Krash" Kelly will be retiring from the Canadian Forces on 12 Oct 08, after 20 years of loyal and dedicated service.

Sgt Kelly joined the CF on 13 Oct 1988 and completed recruit training at CFRS Cornwallis and trades training as an artilleryman at CFB Shilo. Sgt Kelly joined the Comm Rsch trade in 1993 and completed trade training at E Squadron, CFSCE Kingston. During his distinguished career, Krash has served at the following locations: CFB Calgary, CFB Shilo, CFB Petawawa, CFB Kingston, CFS Gander, CFS Leitrim and CFIOGHQ Detachment Texas in San Antonio. Interspersed amongst these postings, Krash served on the following tours of duty: CFS Alert, Op Eclipse in Ethiopia/Eritrea, Op Apollo (CENTCOM), Theater Activation Team in Afghanistan and Op Athena also in Afghanistan.

Krash and his wife Carol will remain in the San Antonio area where they plan to fully enjoy retirement.
