DRIVE UP, DROP OFF AND DO GOOD! - Manotick United Church

Dear Friends of Manotick United Church,
As part of our ongoing fundraising initiatives Ontario Electronic Stewardship and Manotick United Church will host a public collection event on Saturday, May 5th to collect and recycle unwanted electronic waste such as MP3 players, cameras, telephones, TVs, VCR & DVD players and recorders, radios, and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in our church parking lot. More information on responsible reuse and recycling of electronic products as well as a full list of accepted items is available at http://www.recycleyourelectronics.ca.
This event is part of the broader OES electronic waste recycling program – an ambitious program to make it easier for Ontarians to safely recycle their electronic waste and keep it out of landfill sites. This is a unique way for the Manotick community and surrounding areas to protect our precious environment.
“Four in five Ontario households (82%) have at least one electronic product that is not working or not being used. This program makes recycling easier and encourages consumers and businesses to do what they can to help, “ says Carol Hochu, OES Executive Director. “The reason to participate is simple – it helps keep hazardous electronic equipment out of landfill, which leads to a greener, healthier environment.”
You are encouraged to consider what you may have to contribute to this worthwhile fundraiser. This is an ideal way to clear the clutter during your Spring cleaning! We ask that you forward this message to your family and friends and encourage people to participate in this unique and exciting fundraising event. It is wonderful that we are also able to provide a service to our community that will help protect our environment.
Thank you for your support,
Event Organizers:
Lynne Freitag and Catherine McVie
